There's two Japanese girls, Ayako and Madoka, are staying at my house for 10 days 'cause their school is my sister school. My family is willing to be the host family for them. All of my life, I thought I never had a twin until I met Ayako. We clicked right away when my mum and I went to the airport to pick them up. We have so many things in common such as, our bubbly personalities, our monkey boyfriends, our sense of humor.
For the weekend, we went out and did so many things. On Saturday, the first day out, they tried slurpees for the very first time - they loved it! We visited Assinboine Park and met up with Chris and Maaya - other Japanese girl. After walking around a bit, we went to McDonalds on Portage Avenue - they were amazed at our selections. Ayako ordered a Quarter Pounder, 6 chicken nuggets and medium fries. I told her it was a lot of food, and she disagreed. But at the end, of course I was right. We went to the Forks and did some sight-seeing/shopping. I realized that Winnipeg can be really beautiful if I really open my eyes.
We wrapped the first day out with a bonfire. Imagine, they never went to a bonfire before. It was their first time!
On Sunday, we started our day at noon, Chris and Maaya came and picked us up to go to Grand Prix. It was super-b windy out and I got wind burn on my cheeks. I look like a tomato right now actually. I'm be reppin' Red. ;) After a couple of hours at Grand Prix, we satisfied our hunger with pizzas from Boston Pizza. we went to Fort Whyte after that to see some bisons, Canadian geeses, prarie dogs, etc. We wrapped the day with watching 'Sunset Goose Flights'. We witnessed the ancient migration ritual, thousands of geese landed about 30 minutes after the sunset. It was breath-taking, and I'm stunned with the fact that I lived in Winnipeg all of my life and I never saw this.
So my point is, Ayako is my new bestfriend. I don't even want her to go back to Japan on the 12th. =(
